Here is the first part of my author's commentary for my story, Roses and Thorns. There will be three in total. I figured now is a good time as any to write this up and post it for your reading, seeing as Roses and Thorns been nominated this year at csifanficawards under the Angst category. Yeah, I think angst is a bit of an understatement, actually. According to some comments and messages I've received for the story, it's made people cry. :o Thank you again to csi_niteowl for the nomination! Very sweet of you. :)

The following is very spoilerish for parts 1a and 1b of the story, so if you haven't read it yet, I suggest not peeking under the LJ cut. ;P

Here we go, the second installment of the story! :D The next one is the last one. All I have to say at this point is, a certain section of this story was truly one of the hardest things I ever had to write yet. I’ll let you guess which part that is. Woo, this is something new for me. An angst story with multiple pairings! I know, I know, To DD or Not to DD had multiple pairings too, but that was a funny, cracky story. This particular one follows canon right up to 3x19, and is also a sequel to my story, RNA and DNA. Not necessary to read it though it’ll give insight into how Flack and Hawkes got together. This story will be completed in two more installments. Don’t worry, I’m writing this one to the finish mucho fasto so the wait for installments will be minimal. And I have a hunch there will be ship-related comments or rants, so please, I hope you’ll refrain from doing so until you’ve read the entire story. The Curse of the Writer's Block is lifted! ;P Yes, ladies (and gentlemen), I'm back on the saddle with a Flack/Hawkes story, the first non-Danny/Flack story where one of the guys is paired with another main character from the show! Okay, lots more notes after the story, since I have quite a bit more to say about it and on the Flack/Hawkes ship. This tale was inspired, of course, by the wondrous conversation between Flack and Hawkes at that magic shop in episode 3x18. (You can read a short transcript of it at the end of the story.)
